Can I take my dog (domestic animal) to the Mount Joyce Recreation Park?
Domestic animals are not allowed at the recreation areas, trails or camping areas of the Mt Joyce Recreation Park (other than guide dogs and assistance animals). This rule is in place due to potential impacts of domestic animals on other recreation users, public safety and the protection of native wildlife.
Is fishing a permitted activity and do I require a permit to fish at Wyaralong Dam?
Fishing is permitted from the shoreline,as well as from electric powered vessels and paddle craft. At this stage no fishing permit is required. In the future, a SIPS permit may be required if this lake is stocked with fish under the scheme run by Fisheries Queensland.
At this stage there is no fee payable to camp at the designated sites at the Eastern Trailhead camping area or the Mt Joyce Base Camp campsite at Wyaralong Dam. There is a maximum stay of seven (7) nights at the campsites.
Is a permit required to stage an event or organised activity?
Yes. If you would like to hold an event or organised activity, you must obtain permission to do so. What are the opening and closing times for recreation users?
The Park is open from 6am to 6pm seven days per week. With the exception of the designated camping grounds, you are not permitted to access the Park outside these times unless you have a permit to do so.
Are motorbikes allowed on the trails within Mt Joyce Recreation Park?
No, motorbikes are not permitted on the trails within Mt Joyce Recreation Park. Wyaralong Moto Park caters for motorbike riders. Wyaralong Moto Park will not be run by Seqwater. Wyaralong Moto Park will be a separate facility that will be operated by Motorcycling Queensland.
