About Mt Joyce Recreation Park
Experience more than 40 kilometres of new multi-use tracks and trails at the Mt Joyce Recreation Park.
The Park is located approximately one hour south-west of
Master-planned to provide a point of difference to the activities available at the close by Moogerah and Maroon Dams, this eco-tourism destination has something for all the family.
From world class mountain bike trails, shoreline horse trails, bush walks, trail runs and canoe trails, the Park also incorporates picnic facilities, playground and other amenities.
The Park is open from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm seven days per week. With the exception of the designated camping grounds, you are not permitted to access the Park outside these times unless you have a permit to do so.
The Park was designed following detailed planning and consultation with stakeholder groups. A Recreation Master Plan was developed as part of the Wyaralong Dam Project. Download a copy of this Plan (7MB).
Expression of Interest for Mt Joyce Recreation Park
Trust (22 April 2012)
A company limited by guarantee will be established as trustee of the Mt Joyce Recreation Park Trust to manage and develop recreational pursuits of the Park. Expressions of interest are now sought for individuals to nominate for the positions of director, company secretary or public officer of the management company.
There are several positions are available: Directors, one company secretary and one public officer.
Following a meeting of community representatives at Boonah on 21 April, an extension of time has given for people to submit an Expression of Interest as a Director of the proposed Trust.
